TYMNHS: The painting Yellow Cow

Today I want to highlight to you the painting Yellow Cow by the German artist Franz Marc, dating to 1911.

Just look at this image! Have you seen anything more whimsical than this picture? I certainly had not when I first came across it in my High School art class.

I had considered art to be something like the baroque paintings of yore. I didn’t think that a painting of a happy yellow cow would even be considered art yet it graced the pages of my art textbook.

It certainly was delightful to me and I hope that looking at the picture makes you feel the same. Thank you for dropping by! Please share if you have come across any whimsical art that became one of your favourites. I would love to know about it ๐Ÿ˜Š
