TYMNHS: Star vs. The Forces of Evil

Looking for pure escapism? I understand if you do 😁

For this edition of Things You Might Not Have Seen, I have the perfect show for you. If you collide surrealist art with animation (and pastel colors), you get the show Star vs. The Forces of Evil. The show is about Star Butterfly, a magical princess from the dimension of Mewni. She is the heiress to the royal throne of the Butterfly Kingdom.

The series sucks you into its universe. You will be wondering questions like why is there a universe with only one hot dog stand? Why are people lining up for weeks to eat this hot dog? The most bizarre thing you will discover, that the hot dog was worth the hype.

There is a guru named Glossimer, who glosses over everything. His lessons confuses rather than enlightens. His quests sends the main character, Star Butterfly, in a jumble of confusion. We wonder if there was a point to his quest. (Probably not)

There is a love triangle. Star can choose her Demon boyfriend or her best friend from Earth, Marco. Would she risk their friendship? A special friendship that had survived many attacks and evil forces from parallel universes.

There are epics battles with monsters and Sailor moon type transformations. There are four seasons of this series to lose yourselves in (and not think).

The ending is surreal and satisfying, much like the show itself. The forces of evil has no power here.

I hope that you liked today’s blog post. I hope that you discovered something new to watch today.

Thank you for reading! 😊
